Print

The development of the western part of the building, which formerly hosted the International Broadcasting Centre (IBC), entails the expansion of the existing Golden Hall Mall, in order to create a thoroughly modern and comprehensive shopping experience, strengthening and upgrading all of the Centre’s current functions and services.

The existing Shopping Centre will gain a total of 11,500 m² of gross leasable area (GLA) and will be served by an additional 200 parking spaces.

This additional space will contain: retail stores, shops and restaurants, offices, a gymnasium and facilities for children. Additionally, the newly expanded Mall will also host the “Athens Olympic Museum” covering a total area of 3,250 m². The Museum will bring to life the history of the Olympic Games in the form of a journey through time, beginning with the birth of the Games in Ancient Greece – up to our modern-day phantasmagoric spectacles – presenting rare exhibits and a wealth of interactive audio-visual content.

The further development of Golden Hall is expected to  become an important tourist destination, providing the largest and highest-quality complex for family recreation in Athens. The newly expanded Golden Hall will attract many more visitors and aims to significantly upgrade the model of family fun and recreation in the capital.

With an estimated investment of over €25m, and an expected opening date by the end of 2019, the expansion of Golden Hall will also create over 500 new jobs.
