Hephaestus Hellas Shipbuilding SAs participation in the foremost shipping industry fair in Greece marks the start of the companys new vigorous strategy, and the expansion of its business and clientele in Greece and abroad.
Hephaestus Hellas Shipbuilding is evolving into a modern shipbuilding company specializing in the refurbishment, repair, maintenance and safe berthing of large recreational yachts. Hephaestus is the only yard in the southeastern Mediterranean specializing in that type of boat. The company is also providing maintenance and repair of commercial ships, steadily expanding its clientele in the latter category.
Hephaestus has been in operation since 1968 as a subsidiary in the Latsis Group. In February 2000 it joined the real estate investment and development company LAMDA Development.
During the inauguration, Hephaestus CEO Themistocles Typaldos explained that Hephaestus Hellas Shipbuilding provides integrated solutions in the shortest possible time and at competitive cost. We believe that these three aspects express the requirements of a modern shipbuilding and repair yard, giving our company a significant comparative advantage in a growing high yield market.
In his statement, LAMDA Development CEO Lambros Anagnostopoulos said that The great number of visitors at the pavilion of Hephaestus Hellas Shipbuilding demonstrates that the companys modern orientation, and the high goals we have set for the next few years, have found good response.
The shipyard is situated on a 7.5 hectare site in Eleusis, on the 27th kilometer of the Athens Corinth highway. Its infrastructure includes all necessary facilities (harbor, buildings and electromechanical equipment) to accommodate ships of up to 100,000 ton.
